烧肉

There are whole lots of procedures to make this siu yuk. One of the most important part is to 打针on the skin of the half cook pork.
Marinating the pork.

Drying the pork.

It's done after roasted for almost 1 hour.

Ready to serve! Check it out, the skin is crispy, and the meat is tender... good try :)
Anyway, this is not the first time we are doing. So many try and errors in between.

Painting by numbers

It has been a really busy months after i came back from my Beijing trip. Since i started my new post as a regional role in Nov 1, life been busy and stress. Hence, not much baking activity lately.Somehow, i found something interesting lately. Painting!
It called painting by number. This is equilvalent to 油画, just that i can follow the numbers in the painting and paint by the designated color. Just like below.
These are stuffs for children, but i found it quite interesting.

These are some of my painting. I started off with the smallest painting. I will start with a bigger painting probably end of Dec.

Cup with Straw.

I bought a cup with straw for Ashley. The indication wrote, the cup is for 9+ months baby. Ashley is 7 months 2 weeks now. I was thinking, never mind, just give her a try....
To my surprise, very quickly she knows how to suck from the straw. Mother nature!!!! Just have to be patient in the first 10 minutes....

Famous Amos Cookies | 1 Oct, 2011

Last week, all of a sudden, i have a craved for Famous Amos cookies. I was thinking, where can i buy the cookies... i called 2 colleagues and get ask them to buy for me if they happen to go to the shop while they have their lunch. Of course, i did not get to eat it. After work, straight away, i visit a Famous Amos shop near to my house. I am so satisfy at the first bite.... Yummy... However, this cookies is too expensive to eat. 100 gram cost me RM10 something.

Then that night itself, i start looking for the recipe online. And i found it.
Of course, i tried to make it too....

This is the experiment product.

Still have plenty of room for improvement. I sort of know what went wrong. I dont have enough chocolate chips and chocolate bar. Master Chef told me, when baking cookies, we need to use 上下火 plus fan. So the cookies become crispier. Next time, next time i will make a better cookies.

Back to the Basic - White Toast | 2 Oct 2011

I have been stop making bread for sometime. Reason being, bread take longer time to make and the end product was not satisfying most of the time. The bread i made, normally taste soft and good while it is still warm. However, it turn tougher after it was completely cool down. And i can smell the yeast.

This time, Mr Kuan has asked his friend, "Master Chef" to come to our house and teach us make bread. Master Chef opens few bakery shops and it is very well known in KL - 棠记饼家.

He makes it so simple... of course, the end product is satisfying one. Most importantly, i know which part of the process went wrong when i am making my own bread. Guess, coming weekends, will be on Bread, bread bread....

Master Chef and Mr Kuan..

Freshly baked white bread, waiting to cool before it send to my stomach.

Yes, this time the bread taste good and soft. And it did not turn tough after it cool down.

This is what i prepared, lunch for Master Chef. Homemade 板面.
