What is redundancy plan? What is a redundancy plan different from a contingency plan? I was explaining to my friends in the office today.
Contingency plans are in place to prepare and re-act on some unforseen or uncontrollable situation. It is a preparation for 'rainy days' if something happen. The purpose could be good as you are weighted with importance if that actual day come true. However, redundancy plan is something plan to happen and when that day come you are actually redundant and is being replace. Basically, you are not weighted with importance since you are going to be redundant and replaceable. It could be cruel to find out that if you are being treated as a redundancy plan. In order to re-act as being treated so, we should counter re-act on a redundancy plan with a contingency plan. Do the best, and out perform your current role so that your importance are being valued. If you know that no matter what, the redundancy plan is going to act upon in time, then a contingency plan should come into picture.
Damn...
