Some of you might wonder what the currency in Egypt is. All the while I thought they were using USD. Apparently, Egypt’s basic unit of currency is the Egyptian Pound (called a ginay in Arabic and written as £E or LE). Currently rates at around £E11 to the pound sterling, £E6 to the USD, and £E7.75 to the euro. As of today, one MYR= £E 1.6612. Egyptian banknotes come in denomination of 5pt, 10pt, 25pt, 50pt, £E1, £E5, £E10, £E20, £E50 and £E100. Interesting…..
